Steve Coffey
"Southern Songs"

Saturday November 29th - Saturday December 13th.

It’s hard to clearly articulate the images and memories in our heads. You can describe a clothesline swaying in the breeze, but that’s just one detail among many. To convey the whole image – the mood of the world at that moment in time, its stark beauty and strength, the colours, taste, even the smell – takes more than just raw prose. Deep down, that’s what art really is – showing, telling, describing whole moments in time and space.

Steve Coffey’s art presents the “memory polaroids” of the prairies on the canvas, and through song. Both are sensual paths to the same beautiful windswept plains. Experienced together, they tell the whole story. Literally.

Roseanne West
"New Works" May 10 - 24, 2008

Let Roseanne West remove the grey lens from your eyes that dulls the senses and tones down colour. Her work restores the raw vibrancy of the objects that share our world. From waves crashing on a tumultuous shore, to a dignified still life on a kitchen table, everything brought under West’s gaze demands attention, springing back to radiance and life. The world is far too intense to be reduced to greyscale – why not enjoy the ride?
